The Problem
Glass bottles, transparent containers, or semi-transparent objects lose their transparency or get partially removed during background removal. The AI treats see-through regions as background because the background is visible through the object.
Common Causes
Step-by-Step Solutions
Use Magic Click keep mode on transparent regions
Select the Magic Click tool in keep mode and click directly on the transparent areas of the glass or container. This tells the AI to preserve those regions even though background is visible through them.
Click on glass edges to preserve them
Place keep-mode click points along the outer edges of the glass object. Focus on rim areas, bases, and any visible structural outlines where the glass is most visible.
Accept partial transparency effects
Current AI models cannot fully preserve optical transparency. The result may show the glass as slightly opaque. For product photography, this often still looks professional and natural.
Consider using change background instead of transparent
For glass objects, switching to the Change Background tab and selecting a solid or gradient background often produces better results than a transparent PNG, since the glass will have a clean background to show through.
